PURPOSE:
To provide individualized assistance to attendees of the Library's Job Seekers Drop-In Clinics.
MINIMUM COMMITMENT:
- 2 -10 hours/month during one or more scheduled Job Seekers Clinics
- 4-month commitment
- Reports to On-site Volunteer Advisor or ALD Staff Designee
- Active EMAIL account
DESCRIPTION:
Assist customers with one or more of the following job-seeking tasks:
- Setting up E-mail accounts
- Identifying resume and cover letter templates in MS Word suitable to customer's work history
- Creating and updating customer resume content using AI platforms
- Setting up Job Board accounts (or related job search engine accounts}
- Navigating and assisting customers with the completion of online application forms
- Assisting customers with saving documents to flash drives and as attachments to customer E-mail accounts
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must possess excellent people skills and a strong commitment to customer service
- Must be computer literate in the MS Word application and possess Internet navigational skills and viable keyboarding skills
- Possess a working knowledge of AI tools
- Must be available for a brief orientation to the Computer Lab environment
- Must possess the ability to read and comprehend English well (bilingual is welcome!)
- Must possess the ability to verbally communicate effectively and courteously
- Must possess the ability to receive and follow instructions
